Fall Looks with Johnston & Murphy

Hey guys! I know I've been pretty MIA lately, the usual excuses unfortunately. (work, school, life etc.) But super excited because the Holidays are coming up and I'm hoping to do for lookbook type posts in the future! Today I'm excited to share this lil look I put together wearing the amazing Brianna Buckle Bootie by Johnston and Murphy. I've been wearing them constantly this past month and I swear to you, the are t h e most COMFY heels ever-- not even being dramatic. What I love the most about them is that I have been able to create some casual looks but I've also dressed them up. For this outfit I chose to go the classic, modern-edgy route. Also just a fun fact, I actually wore this outfit to an interview (Topshop) and they loved it. :-)

Updated Skincare Routine | With GÖTZ BAD ISCHL Oxygen Facial Tonic

Hellerr! I'm finally back with an updated skincare routine, I've been wanting to do this for a while now because I have literally completely changed up everything and switched out all my old cleansers, toners and moisturizers with new and different brands. This wasn't added in the group photo but before I tone and moisturize my skin I scrub my face with Tony Moly's Foam Face Cleanser before hand to ensure a clean face. Below I numbered the products in the exact order that I use them! First using  GÖTZ BAD ISCHL Oxygen Facial Tonic.
1.  GÖTZ BAD ISCHL Oxygen Facial Tonic
My most recent addition to my skincare routine! This is a fresh, herbal toning spray that I use before applying all of my other moisturizers.

GÖTZ BAD ISCHL Oxygen Facial Tonic for anyone (you too boys) with troubled skin. It helps reduce acne drastically and reduce red marks and scarring that we are all left with. It is not oily or greasy! So good for oily/combo skin as well.
A clarifying tonic that will help balance out excessive oil, soothe redness, and minimize the appearance of blemishes and enlarged pores. Anthyllis works to balance and even your skin tone, while calendula and nasturtium work to minimize blackheads and the appearance of blemishes.
This toner can soothe knicks, cuts, and razor burn. (Both men and women can even use this as an aftershave!) It can also soothe bug bites, and other irritations. So, not only should this toner be in your beauty bag, but it can also be a great addition to your first aid kit.
It has a very strong herbal/tangerine-y smell too it when you first spritz it on your face but not too bothersome. It  fades after a few seconds after application.
GÖTZ BAD ISCHL treatment is Paraben-Free, Alcohol-Free & Cruelty-Free. Improve Complexion & Skin Tone, Extract Dirt & Impurities, & Leave Your Skin Clean, Hydrated, Soft and Radiant.

Champaign Pop Collection | Does it change lives??

Hello nuggets. It's been a while but I'm back with another review! The Becca X JH collection has been out for a month or so now I believe and I've edited my photos so long ago and never got around to making actual content out of it (the usual.)  I had actually waited for this product to go live on Sephora I think it was like 10am or something? They sold out pretty quickly but I was actually impressed by how quickly they restocked! I thought It was going to be one of those launch, sell out and restock another month later type deals, but thankfully not.
I'm a huge fan of the OG highlight Champaign Pop and was excited when I found out that they were coming out with a new highlight. Prosecco pop is a very nice gold highlight. They highlight shade itself isn't too special, you can get gold highlights literally from any brand. (Laura Mercier has an amazing one or even Laura Geller's Guilded Honey) but the thing about Becca's skin perfectors is that the formula is sooo amazing it's virtually incomparable. Any of brand that makes highlights with this amount of pigmentation usually have a lot of fallout etc but not theirs :-) idk what it is but it's so silky and applies beautifully.

Moving to the blushes, they're absolutely beautiful. Rose Spritz and Pamplemousse are such nice pinky shades! And a little definitely goes a long way, the formula with these are def A1, typical of the Becca skin perfector usual quality. The only one I can't really seem to come around to is Amaretto. It's kind of a brozed burnt peach shade? It's somewhere in the middle where you're not sure if you should use it as a blush or a bronzer, I think that'll depend mostly on your skin tone and see which way looks best on you. In the pot it looks more bronzed and earthy but when applied it actually has a very orange-y undertone to it. It's a very pretty shade (I think it was mostly added for aesthetics to the palette) but I don't really know what to do with it since it doesn't really look good on my skin tone :/
Left to right: Rose Sprits, Amaretto, Pamplemousse

That about wraps it up! Next Thursday on my new skincare routine :-) I have a buttload of new products that I have been using and my skin has been so cutes and supple and cooperative lately and I think it's because of my new moisturizing routine.

Edit: Yes this palette does change lives lol

March Favorites: Glo Up

As promised I am back with my March Favorites-- but I'm changing it up a little and sharing my  current favorite highlighters to achieve that bomb glow 。◕‿◕。 These are all recent purchases and I actually use at least 3 of them everyday..

We'll start with the ABH Glow Kits. This one is in Gleam-- I bought this one only for Mimosa and ended up really liking Starburst and Crushed Pearl as well. Super pigmented but I found that when I tried to use it with MAC fix+ it didn't apply well at all, which was actually really surprising to me because Fix+ brings out the best in nearly all powder highlighters. I'm thinking it might have been the setting powder I was using (never had a problem with it before but just a thought) and maybe next time I try out a different one and see if the result is the same.
Next, That Glow-- legit part of my All Stars team of A1 highlights, especially Golden Bronze. Lately I've been trying to maintain a nice glow for my skin and easing up on intense coverage etc. so I've been doing a lot of natural bronzed, bright skin looks and of course I use cream contour (FX or ABH) but then set it using Golden Bronze :-) and it comes out b e a u t i f u l l y . I can't express how much I love this one lol. Sunburst is probably my least favorite out of the four, for some reason I feel like it would look better on lighter skinned girls even though it's paired with darker pans, which makes it look nice but I would suggest going a different route for my brown hunnies. I just feels like it comes off really light and opaque and looks kind of funky, kind of sad about it but maybe in winter when ya girls lighter I'll give it another shot.
So for the past year I have been missing out on the precious gem that I ever knew I needed. Becca X Jaclyn Hill's Champaign Pop. Yeees I know it's been out for forever but honestly I didn't think it'd be worth the hype I guess? I've seen it on many of my favorite Youtubers but that never really seemed like enough to justify the purchase for me and never bothered to swatch it at Sephora until recently. AND I'M CRYING BC IT'S SO GOOD AND IDK WHY I WAITED SO LONG?!?!??!?! Outrageous.  I actually have a lot of Becca's products and really like the Shimmering Skin Perfecters, they silky smooth and has super high pigmentation. I've been wearing this literally everyday since my purchase. No ragrets. Also So sorry the next few swatches were out of focus, I didn't realize until after I was editing and at that point there was no going back.

The following picture after Champaign Pop is Opal. I got a mini sample and it's not too bad. I have other highlighters that I would definitely grab and use before this one but I actually have been using it as a top layer for Champaign Pop and found that I actually really liked the combo. So for that reason it was defaulted into my favorites.
For those that don't know Urban Decay came out with a new Summer collection and came out with new bronzers, highlighters, BB creams etc. This is their new Afterglow Powder Highlighter in Fireball. It comes out in three different shades and tbh I almost bought all of them, but being $28 I surprisingly was able to control myself from yet another impulse buy. I went with Fireball because it was the only highlighter shade I really felt like I didn't already have and basically just use it as a blush substitute. Once again, I apologize for the unfocused pictures u.u
And that sums up last month's favorites! One last thing I want to share is a new blog segment I'll be doing called The Chowski Chronicles, starring my sweet dogchild Osa who is now 5 months old. I've  been planing this for a while but have been waiting until she got a little older so her personality can grow a little more and all that. So I think it's time! It'll be scheduled for the last Friday of every month, so next week be ready to be slapped in the face with cuteness and my endless puppy drama. Are there any other new parents out there with puppies going through the terrible twos?? Let me know I want to know how you're dealing with it hahaha *laughs and cries manically* Click below to see some teaser pictures! You won't regret it :>

That's all for tonight, later gators.

Casual Glam -- Spring Edition

Hey guys I'm back with another look, kudos to my front yard-- I didn't realize there was such great lighting in that spot \( ˙ ᵌ ˙ )/ Speaking of lighting, in the near future I will be investing in a ring light so that everything I post is of the quality I want it to be. I don't get to use my camera as often as I like since the lighting in my room is h o r r i b l e . I've gotten a lot tanner lately so I've had to rotate out some of my favorite concealers and foundations (boo!) but in the process I found a few of really good dupes for some high end products I normally use :> I get dark fairly easily and my color tends to fluctuate, so I hate spending so much on my favorite brands/products to fit a skin tone that I usually am for a few months. So I turned to some less expensive brands and played around and was pleasantly surprised. So look forward to that soon! I am really trying to have post updates every Saturday and really look forward to what's (hopefully) to come.
Anyway here's a look from the other day which I also shared on my makeup instagram @mubyselena, products listed below as always ꈍ .̮ ꈍ

also small side note I wore this look to a Bone Thugz n Harmony show later this day and everything held up pretty nicely lol.

#MorpheMe Subscription

Hey guys! I hope everyone is doing well :> I've recently subscribe to LiveGlam X Morphe's MorpheMe Brush Subrscription. It's $19.99/mo and honestly it's such a deal. They've only been doing it for a few months now and I love it. Morphe brushes are super affordable as it is, but I get soo lazy when it comes to brushes and finding good ones. The sub. box sends a lot of brushes I wouldn't have thought of trying, and I have fallen in love with all of them and use them daily ꈍ .̮ ꈍ Feburary had about SEVEN BRUSHES in the box, SEVEN. I'm going to show you the brushes for April, and just to keep you up to date March's box just consisted of some thick tapered brushes I use for highlighting.

From left to right: M504, M330, M505, M510, M508

I went ahead and linked the individual brushes for y'all to go take a peek :-) The first four ARE SO GOOD. The tapered crease brushes are so precise yet blends everything out so seamlessly it makes me emotional. I can't wait for what the future months have in store. Also if you guys aren't a part of LiveGlam I recommend checking it out, especially if you're a makeup junkie! Originally I signed up because one of my favorite MUA @iluvsarahii had been endorsed by them and became a part of their MUA certification program and since then I've been hooked and have been checking in a couple times a week too see if they have posted any new tutorials etc. It's definitely worth a look 。◕‿◕。

Is anyone else part of the #MorpheMe club? Let me know how you use some of the brushes we've received and the looks you've created!

Got Bra-blems? Let's talk about it

Hellerr everyone (˵˚ ω ˚˵)
Today I have an info-packed post for y'all that'll save lives! I don't think I just speak for myself when I say bras suck. Personally, I prefer sports bras or bralettes (if there's any that actually fit me) over actual bras because of all the "bra-blems" that get dragged along with them. But, alas! No more moaning and groaning, because today I have some quick tips and tricks for you, to help guide you through to having a successful bra day.

Let's start with the basics:

Next, how many of you knew that if you get a smaller waist band size you need to go up a cup?! Bet you didn't. ◕◡◕
Anyone else got Satan's claw marks chillen on their shoulders from weighed down straps? (oh the burden of large breasts)
Hate the doubled-up breasts that spill over the top? Full-coverage t-shirt bras ladies!!

And my all time favorite, and biggest issue. The sleepy boobs that like to hang out at the bottom of my bra. Usually I just tighten my straps, and pull those babies back up. But if that doesn't work..

And that about sums it up! I hope these little tips help some of y'all out when preparing for a bra baring day. ThirdLove has an awesome selection (up to size F!) and has their signature half sized bras. Don't feel like a C anymore but not exactly a D? Np. C ½,. It's real, and it's here ladies. For me it's really hard to find good CUTE BRAS for my size (32DD) so I'm really excited to see a bra line that makes cute and comfy designs for the big girls as well *tears up* Continue reading for my recommended bras and more help links!

Inspo | Life

I hope everyone has started of their (school) year well! We're right around midterms about now and I know it sucks but we must persevere! I haven't been as productively academically and I'm not where I'd like to be career wise, at this point in my life I thought I'd be doing something a lot different. I realize I haven't been setting realistic goals and being honest with myself about where I'm going and what I want to do in order to stay motivated. I've been setting myself up to graduate in a major that I have no idea what I wan't to do with when I should really be analyzing what my passion is and setting myself up for that instead. Which seems like an obvious think to do I know, but some how my passions never struck me as something career-worthy in todays world. I know there are a lot of you out there still trying to find yourself and your passions as well! Which is why I wanna give a s/o to all ma ladies riding the struggle bus (。・ヮ・。) It's difficult and it definitely takes a toll on your self-esteem, ego and overall confidence in yourself and your abilities when you don't do well in school and don't know what you want to do. You're not alone! So, with that being said LET US SET GOALS WOOOO and how we can maintain and achieve.

1. Asses where you're at without being too harsh on yourself whilst drowning in self pity. (it's ok if you dug yourself in a hole, but let us figure out now how we can get out :>)

2. Really look deep down and find you dream job, and what it takes to get there while considering all the skills necessary to do it well. (bb steps)

3. Set up your success:
  • Create your perfect study environment. This is something I've spent a lot of time trying to do, and out of all places my room is where I feel the most comfortable and motivated because of the environment I've created for myself.
  • Organization! I've really tried hard to use my planners etc for the past 3 years but it wasn't until recently (this semester) that I started using a calendar app on my Macbook to keep track of everything at school and it's honestly soooooo much easier. The app is called Sunrise Calendar and although I don't really like the mobile version, the desktop version is A+ in my books.
  • Work your ass off. Put in the time and effort you need. Easier said than done right, but is it really?
Again, these concepts aren't exactly new to me, but it's the first time in a while that I've taken a lot of things to heart this year and am finally applying the things I should have years ago. I hope anyone else out there that needs that extra push will get the tiniest little spark they need to restart that fire inside them that we all lose every now and then.

Til next time! xx

Back from the dead.. Tony Moly 2016

Hello happy spring everyone?? I've been on hiatus (as usual) bc I get caught up in rl and don't update as much as I'd like.. A few things have changed. 1 major one being my boyfriend and I have a puppy now (: She will be her own post entirely but I'm super excited to share our journey. You can see her grow rapidly too @osathechowski! 2nd is I finally have Yoko back! (my canaan rebel t5) and I will finally be taking quality photos again :> With the exception of this post, which were photos taken from my iPhone lol.

I also went to Disneyland recently, and if you know me you know how weird that is.. but ┐( `∀´ )┌ am i rite. But I'd like to get the New Year started off on the right foot with a good ole' beauty post! I recently purchased the Urban Decay x Gwen Stefani eyeshadow palette and tbh I wasn't all that impressed by it at first. It took me a few times to have it grow on me. I'll do an unboxing and swatch in a later post when I have my camera n.n I guess something else that has changed is my skin routine.. As seen below is Tony Moly's Egg Pore thing and it was originally just an impulse buy due to cute packaging and poor self control, but it turns out I really like it lol. It has a lot more product than I expect and is a super spongy-like face mask that you put on your pore areas (nose, apples of cheeks and forehead for me.) And it's super tightening, once you wash it all off with warm water I HIGHLY recommend you follow up with some of the argon serum I've listed below. YOUR FACE WILL FEEL INSANELY AMAZING IT'S NOT EVEN FUNNY. I can't stress how great this combo is.
